As spring finally settles in and Boston shakes off its rainy season, summer fun is right around the corner. That means company outings are starting to pop up on calendars across the city. But while everyone loves the idea of a day out of the office, actually planning one can be a bit more complicated.
At Fresh City Kitchen, we’ve worked with corporate teams all across Greater Boston to throw unforgettable events. Whether it’s a casual evening on the waterfront or an active afternoon of team building, we’re here to take the stress out of planning your catered event and put the fun back into summer. To help you get started, we’ve rounded up a few of our favorite local venues we know are guaranteed to make your event a blast.

Just minutes from Brighton, the Tall Ship is a show-stopping waterfront venue with postcard-worthy views of the Boston skyline. The venue rents out the ship itself, a waterfront tent, and their Navy Yard bar on the pier — meaning they can accommodate teams of all sizes. Lawn games, an oyster raw bar, and an unbeatable ocean breeze make this a perfect pick for a hot summer night. Their in house catering options include fresh New England seafood, street tacos, neapolitan pizzas, and All-American BBQ, there’s something for everyone.

Looking for a more dynamic outing? Charter a private cruise through Boston Harbor. Boston Harbor Cruises and Liberty Fleet offer sunset sails and full-service charters straight out of Boston harbor, while Sir Winston in Marina Bay is a more affordable option only 20 minutes outside of the city. Expect bar service, catering, and panoramic views of the skyline and harbor islands. It’s a relaxing and memorable way to unwind with your team, or celebrate a big win!

Formerly a World War I-era warehouse, the Flynn cruiseport is now a massive waterfront venue for all kinds of events. The cruiseport has multiple floors as well as indoor and outdoor space, making it a flexible venue for events of all types and sizes. Located right on the Boston harbor, the view couldn’t be better, and their “Drive-Thru” space, which is both outdoor and covered (nobody’s raining on your parade here!) can accommodate food trucks for a truly unique experience.

This hidden gem on the Charles River offers a peaceful, scenic setting perfect for summer. Docks, balconies, and serene views make it a great option for a lower-key event. It’s a unique venue with serious New England charm.

If you’re looking for a more fitness-focused event, the New Balance Track in Brighton is a flexible and fun option. The venue includes everything from small office meeting rooms to an entire track and field event room. Host a team-building relay, a corporate wellness event, or a casual gathering in a private suite (complete with TVs and personal bar).

Let’s Talk Food: Fresh City Kitchen Summer Catering Highlights
And some extra good news for anyone looking to book the iconic Harry Parker Boathouse or Brighton’s New Balance Track: Fresh City is an approved caterer at both venues! Working with a pre-approved caterer makes your planning even easier, and Fresh City is happy to serve the food you already know and love. In light of that, here are some of our favorite seasonal menu items that always win over a crowd:
After the cold, hard New England winter, we’re really looking forward to kicking our feet back and enjoying a nice party, and we’re sure you are too! Clearly, Boston has many great venues to offer for an unforgettable evening. No matter if your group is 10 people or 1,000, if you’re looking to hold a celebration or a conference, we’ve found options that will work for you. So, take the night off and enjoy your hard work, our beautiful city, and the warm weather!
